Jessica Thomson

Professional Practice

Jessica’s practice is focused on all areas of management-side labour and employment law including human rights and privacy issues in the workplace.  She also practices administrative law.

Jessica provides practical and strategic advice to employers on a variety of issues which arise in both the union and non-union environment.  She counsels her clients on collective agreement interpretation, assistance with grievances, drafting of employment contracts and policies and she provides advice on all other aspects relating to employment relations.  She has conducted complex workplace investigations including bullying and harassment complaints in highly sensitive circumstances.

Jessica is a strong advocate with extensive litigation experience.  She gained experience in the courtroom early in her career as crown prosecutor and regularly appears at arbitration hearings, before the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the courts and variety of other tribunals and administrative bodies.

Outside the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

She speaks French fluently.
