Laura Inglis

Professional Practice

Laura practiced as a civil litigator at a national firm for 10 years before joining Neuman Thompson. During that time, she specialized in professional discipline and negligence, and employment law.

Laura has a wide range of experience with labour and employment matters and has assisted clients in a variety of industries including construction, oil and gas, energy, software and information technology, and health care. Working with companies ranging in size from start-up organizations to multinational corporations, she routinely advises clients on an array of issues including wrongful dismissal, disciplinary matters, human rights, and privacy law.

Laura has acted for employers in both civil actions and defended complaints made pursuant to human rights legislation, privacy legislation and employment standards legislation. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta.

Laura received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta in 2006. She was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2007.

Outside of the office, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

Community Involvement

Laura volunteers with the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED). She is currently on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association (North) Labour and Employment Law section.
