Ron T. Smith

Ron’s primary practice areas are Labour, Employment and Human Rights law. Prior to joining Neuman Thompson, Ron practiced with a regional Law Firm where he was a partner for 10 years and chaired the firm’s Employment Practice Group. During that time, Ron represented his employer client’s interests by providing timely legal advice on a wide variety of employment issues affecting his clients’ operations. Ron has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and has represented his clients before the Alberta Human Rights Commission, the Canada Human Rights Commission, and at Canada Labour Code hearings.

Ron’s employer clients include large scale institutional businesses, owner-operated small businesses, First Nations as well as insurers offering coverage to employers for wrongful dismissal claims.
