The landscape within which Alberta businesses operate is changing with the introduction of the Fair and Family Friendly Workplaces Act. Employers must adapt to recent developments to maintain lawful and effective ‘best practices’. To assist in this understanding, Raylene Palichuk and Jessica Thomson will provide an overview and analysis of planned and pending changes to Alberta’s Employment Standards Code and Labour Relations Code. We welcome all those who are interested to attend this informative webinar.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • The replacement of existing rules around compressed work weeks
  • New banked overtime rules
  • The increase in existing leave entitlements and the introduction of new kinds of leaves
  • New rules around negotiating first collective agreements
  • The re‐introduction of the “card check” system
  • Expanding the Alberta Labour Relations Board powers and jurisdiction

NEUMAN THOMPSON has significant experience in navigating employment and labour laws and offers
its webinars for the benefit of executives, HR professionals, and other employer‐side stakeholders.
