Chris Monfette

Chris has been an associate lawyer at Neuman Thompson since being called to the bar in 2018. Chris practices in all areas of labour and employment law, including collective bargaining, certification drives, human rights complaints, wrongful dismissal claims, privacy law, and labour arbitration. Chris has experience representing employers in both the public and private sector, including post-secondary institutes, municipalities, heavy equipment companies, health care operators, long term care facilities, and manufacturing companies.  Chris has experience at all levels of Court in Alberta as well as representing clients before the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, Alberta Information and Privacy Commissioner, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, and in OHS matters. 

Chris graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2017. During school Chris was President of one of the faculty’s recreational hockey teams, the Litigators. He also represented the University of Alberta in the 2016 Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada (HACC) at the University of Toronto, following an in-house competition at the Faculty of Law.

Prior to earning his Juris Doctor, Chris earned his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Alberta’s School of Business, majoring in Finance.
