Ryan practices in all areas of labour and employment law.

Ryan joined Neuman Thompson in June of 2016, with previous experience in labour and employment law at a national firm in Edmonton. Ryan has experience with contracts, restrictive covenants, certifications and decertification applications, collective agreements, unfair labour practices, successor/common employer applications, policies, human rights, workplace safety, privacy, wrongful dismissals, and many other areas of employment and labour law. Ryan also specializes in the conduct of highly sensitive workplace investigations.

Ryan has made submissions at the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and all levels of court in Alberta as well as before many administrative tribunals, including labour arbitrations, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Alberta Human Rights Commission, the Alberta Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board. Ryan has also taught labour law classes at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. 

Prior to attending law school, Ryan traveled the world and held many jobs in a variety of fields, including working as a writer and journalist. Ryan loves all sports, reading, and spending time with family.
